Asian Artists In Crystal

WilliamWarmus,
the former curator of
modern glass at the Corning Museum
of Glass, speaks on Walter and Lenore
Annenberg’s
Asian Artists in Crystal
collection by Steuben Glass. This
exhibition opens in January 2016, and
features the only complete collection of
a 1956 series of decorative glasswork
that marries Asian artistry with
American craftsmanship.
Since leaving the Corning Museum
of Glass, Mr. Warmus has pursued
a career as an independent curator,
historian, and an appraiser specializing
in modern glass, abstract art, and the
aesthetics of the natural environment.
He is the author of more than a dozen
books, and currently lives near Ithaca,
New York.

Evan Thomas
discusses his recent book
Being
Nixon: A Man Divided.
Thomas’
account of Nixon peels away the
layers of a complex, paradoxical
man who became the thirty-seventh
president of the United States. The
Chicago Tribune

as “A biography of eloquence and

Nixon’s long and interesting life could
be so comprehensive.”
Evan Thomas was a correspondent,
writerandeditorat
Time
and
Newsweek,
for thirty-three years including ten years
(1986–96) as Washington Bureau
Chief at
Newsweek,
where, at the time
of his retirement in 2010, he was editor
at large. He wrote more than one
hundred cover stories and in 1999 won
a National Magazine Award.
