Post Quake: Seven Days of
Survival
Wednesday, March 2, 7 – 8 P.M.
Dr. Dennis Mileti
will describe what
people in all of Southern California
and the Coachella Valley might
experience in the first seven days
after “The Big One.” Many topics
will be covered: search and rescue,
medical services, sheltering, food
and water, fire suppression, route
recovery, and more. Dr. Mileti will offer
a sequence of post-quake strategies
for the aftermath at 5 minutes, 30
minutes, 2 hours, 24 hours, 72 hours,
and 1 week after the ground stops
shaking. Based on the estimated
consequences regarding each topic,
Dr. Mileti will then speculate on what
we might find ourselves wishing we
had done ahead of time to reduce the
quake consequences.
