Hye Sung Choe, Flutist

Wednesday, March 25, 7 – 8 p.m.

A Korean-born flutist,

Hye Sung Choe

is the first and only recipient of the

Artist’s Certificate in the woodwind

department of the Eastman School

of Music, and the winner of the 2007

National Flute Association’s Young

Artists Competition (USA). Ms. Choe

has won numerous awards and

competitions, including the Byron

Hester International Flute Competition,

the Aspen Music Festival Woodwind

Concerto Competition, the Korean

National Flute Association Competition,

and the Korean National Woodwind

Competition.

Ms. Choe holds a Doctor of Musical

Arts degree from the Eastman School

of Music, where she studied with Bonita

Boyd. Currently she teaches flute at

Bethesda University of California and

the California Institute of Technology.
