Since the January 2006 opening, the Library has attracted more and more patrons. With this success comes great need for The Friends of the Rancho Mirage Public Library to assist in providing more programs for people of all ages. The Friends have plans for additional musical offerings, lectures, book teas, children's reading initiatives, and unique programs for families. The Friends will continue to provide funds for reading materials and all forms of electronic media. These programs require a continued commitment for funding.
Accordingly, Claire Smith, Chair of the Library Campaign for Surpassing Excellence Committee, has announced a 'refreshed campaign' to raise the necessary funds, now and the future. There are many ways to make contributions to the Library. There are naming oppurtunities or memorials for reading areas, flagpole, and tiles for the outdoor amphitheatre.
