Annual Library Literary Luncheon
The Rancho Mirage Public Library has presented an Annual Author Luncheon for 16 years, bringing notable writers to Rancho Mirage for talks about their books, their writing, and the many influences they have had. Every luncheon has been marked by lively audience-author Q&A.
Beginning in 2013, the Rancho Mirage Public Library Foundation will present the second Annual Library Literary Luncheon. By broadening the world of books to include authors as well as publishers, literary agents, journalists, and more, each luncheon promises to be timely, full of information about where publishing is headed, a look at e-books, marketing and even more of the "inside" story of the world of American books.

Book Nook
The Rancho Mirage Public Library has over 100,000 books in its collection, available to be borrowed with a library card.
The Library Foundation also offers the “Book Nook” a convenient, well-stocked book store selling some new and many nearly new books for readers. With space for over 3,000 volumes: paperbacks, hardbound, best sellers, art books, audio books, magazines and more the Book Nook is a perfect stop on your next visit. The Book Nook is the place to buy books for gifts, books for grandchildren, books for travel, and books you have wanted to read. The Book Nook is staffed by an energetic and helpful group of volunteers who love their work, their customers, and their books!
Book Nook books come directly from gifts made by generous residents. The annual overhead costs for running the Book Nook are $0. Every Book Nook purchase that you make goes directly to the Foundation for new books and media for the collection, for programming, and for the Children’s Summer Reading Club.

If you would like to contribute good new or used books to the Book Nook, please visit the Library during regular hours. Library staff is available to unload your car and to provide a receipt for your gift.
Book Sale Blowout - Twice Yearly
Thousands of books to choose from! The Rancho Mirage Public Library hosts two yearly book sale blowouts, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. Each sale features thousands of books, DVDs and music CDs, all at remarkably low prices and all in very good condition. These bi-annual book sales help raise money for Library programming and collections, while promoting enthusiasm for reading and lifelong learning.
