Our Library is one of California’s busiest and most popular.
With the Literary Legacy program, the Library Foundation recognizes that you may want the
opportunity to make a lasting gift, giving your name or a loved one’s name a permanent place in this outstanding Library. You may choose to name a book, a favorite subject area, a program or series, Library seating, or choose to name the Community Room.

The Foundation is excited about this new path for our Library that embraces current and long term fiscal needs while inviting our patrons and residents to become part of its Literary Legacy.

Building Space
An earlier naming initiative identified building spaces that were successfully dedicated.
Expanding on those opportunities allows for more people to have a permanent space named
in the Library. Plaques will be placed on the item named or at the entry to the space named.

Music and Theater
The Library offers a world-class events calendar that rivals arts and cultural center venues.
Sponsoring an event or annual series of lectures, concerts, theater or film is a very special gift
a season of outstanding performances for as many as four hundred people in a major program.
These are very special giving and naming opportunities.

Art, Film and Lectures
The Library’s season includes art, film, lectures and a summer full of events for children... all part of the programming life of the busiest Library in California. Naming a series for a full year is a wonderful tribute and a memorable gift to our community.

Naming a Collection
Naming a collection is a gift that grows, as books are added on an ongoing basis. One to three books will receive bookplates and when a collection is named, the donor’s name or name of person being honored will be mounted to the Library’s wooden stack end panels, very clearly displaying an enduring legacy.

Throughout the Library, individual chairs may be named. Consider creating a
Literary Legacy while adding to the comfort of Library patrons every day.

The city of Rancho Mirage Public Library offers cultural awareness experiences to satisfy the desire of community residents to gain an understanding, an appreciation and an enjoyment of their own culture and the culture of others. These resources will be provided in a pleasant environment by knowledgeable, responsive staff.
