About The Rancho Mirage Library Foundation
Who We Are
In September 2010, The Library Board of the Rancho Mirage Public Library established a Foundation to organize fundraising on behalf of the Library.
The Foundation Board is made up of energetic and caring people, friends and neighbors you may know. These directors are devoted to the Library that you use and enjoy. Their mission is to expand funding to put emphasis on keeping the Rancho Mirage Public Library the best in California, a Library for all ages and interests.
The Foundation membership is made up of over 500 people who appreciate the special extras that fundraising makes possible. The Foundation's first Citywide mailing to encourage contributions went to all households in Rancho Mirage and Indian Wells in December 2010. The second annual year-end solicitation, mailed in December 2011 asks for gifts to fund programming, the collection, the Children's Summer Reading Club, or other needs. These contributions are deeply appreciated.
The Foundation also sponsors the Annual Library Literary Luncheon. The 2011 Luncheon featured best-selling author and screenwriter Dennis Lehane (Mystic River, Gone, Baby, Gone and Moonlight Mile) who received rave reviews from those who attended. The 2012 Luncheon featured the New York Times best-selling author Erik Larson with his talent for turning historical facts into riveting reads.

The City of Rancho Mirage Public Library in Rancho Mirage, California, provides a collection of current books, audio books, compact discs, videos, magazines and newspapers for adults and children, selected to fulfill patrons' needs for information about popular cultural and social trends and their desire for satisfying recreation reading. The City of Rancho Mirage Public Library meets the communities' need for information and provides answers to questions on a broad array of topics related to work, school and personal life. The city of Rancho Mirage Public Library offers cultural awareness experiences to satisfy the desire of community residents to gain an understanding, an appreciation and an enjoyment of their own culture and the culture of others. These resources will be provided in a pleasant environment by knowledgeable, responsive staff.
