The Resource Center's rich critical, biographical and contextual materials support interdisciplinary approaches, information literacy, and the development of critical thinking skills. Researchers at all levels will find the information they need on authors and their works in all genres and disciplines, from all time periods and from around the world.

 

  • NoveList Plus: This online readers' advisory tool will help you find the perfect book to read, as well as provide information about books and authors.

  • Biography Resource Center: Information about people from throughout history, around the world and across all disciplines and subject areas.

Business Information

  • Standard & Poors Net Advantage: comprehensive business tool including Stock Reports, Industrial Surveys, The Outlook and other key products by Standard & Poors.
  • Reference USA: Research the business industry with this superior source, which includes information from business journals, company profiles, and country economic reports.

Educations & Careers

  • Testing & Education Reference Center: Provides information on two and four-year institutions across the United States and Canada. It also offers one of the largest databases of scholarships and grants to assist students in funding their education. The resource also includes the Career Search module. Users can search three key components: Career Assessment, Resume Builder and Virtual Careers Library. The provides resume, cover-letter and interviewing tips as well as online practice tests for the first-time jobseeker and the seasoned professional alike.

Encyclopedias

  • World Book Online Reference Center: Provides every article from the 22-volume print set plus thousands more, along with photographs, maps, animations, audio/video clips and Special Reports that broaden coverage for selected topics.

Magazines

  • Gale Reference Center Gold: The resource center integrates a vast array of key business and general interest titles to fully answer your patrons' reference questions -- all in a single database. From national news magazines and encyclopedias to core business journals, General Reference Center GoldTM has the full-text and image resources students and researchers need.

Newspapers

  • NewsBank: full text of the Christian Science Monitor, San Diego Union-Tribune and the San Francisco Chronicle.
  • Proquest: full text of the Desert Sun, Los Angeles Times, New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

Science

  • Science Resource Center: Science related topic overviews, experiments, biographies, pictures, illustrations, magazine and academic journal articles and links to websites.
