Library Use Policy

The Rancho Mirage Public Library is open to all members of the public without restriction. Patrons may remain in the Library as long as necessary or appropriate to use the services, materials or facilities for reading, studying, attending programs and obtaining information. However, patrons may be directed to leave the Library with or without advance warning, when their behavior disrupts other patrons, interferes with the staff’s ability to perform their duties, threatens the safety of patrons or staff, or it is inconsistent with library purposes.

Short on time? Short on ideas? If you like to read and want a quick solution to what-to-read-next, pick up a Reading on the Run bag. Bags have been filled by librarians; each bag focuses on a theme, from hard-boiled detective fiction to award-winning literature.

Self-Check

In a hurry? Try using the Library's self-check machine (books only). The intuitive step-by-step instructions make checking out books easy, and our friendly staff is always nearby if you have any questions.

Teacher's Card

This special card is designed to help teachers supply additional books for their classrooms. Teacher's cards can check out 50 books for a 4-week period. Please inquire at the check-out desk for more details.
