Why aren't there more eBooks?
Libraries cannot purchase eBooks directly from Amazon or Barnes & Noble and then lend them out to its patrons as they can with printed materials. Digital content is treated differently by the publishers and the companies who manage digital content licensing.
We would like to offer all the bestsellers, latest fiction and nonfiction titles but some publishers' policies are preventing us from doing so. Many publishers will not sell or license eBooks to libraries. The Rancho Mirage Public Library is committed to bringing you the best and newest available eBook titles. New titles are ordered monthly. We are actively seeking other methods to providing quality materials in our library.

The city of Rancho Mirage Public Library offers cultural awareness experiences to satisfy the desire of community residents to gain an understanding, an appreciation and an enjoyment of their own culture and the culture of others. These resources will be provided in a pleasant environment by knowledgeable, responsive staff.
